I am a recently graduated BA Fine art student, this blog is intended to detail the ideas and construction of my studio practice. My work is about exploring the notion of taboo, censorship and obscenity. I recently started using digital manipulation, but primarily work in painting and drawing. My work often uses transgressive themes which contain nudity. If you are under 18 or feel you may be offended by this, please leave the site now. Thank you.
oh yikes. it doesnt look good. domestic violence screws things up for the whole family, not just the physically assaulted victim(s). i've seen some families and there is no turning back for them. sad.
ReplyDeleteI know Jaya, it is sad. Abusers are very manipulative, add that to the social pressure women have to making things work, keeping the family together it is hard for change to happen. We need more social disgust of the abusers, more punishment , and more support for women who leave abusive men. Everyone thinks Sheen is just this hard done by druggie, whose a nice guy underneath it all. But all his life, hes hit women, put them in hospital, i wanted to represent that.
DeleteSheen is a complete arse hole. He tries to make himself seem so cool and such but beating on women or anyone for that matter is just disgusting and he is a horrible person. It is sad how many never get out of this, and end up toast. Whether physical or mental abuse no one should have to deal with that crap, society/family/whom ever should stop telling people to make it work and start telling them to leave.
ReplyDeleteGot it in one Patt. The police used to call domestic abuse cases in England 'Rubbish cases' because of Stockholm syndrome and the power of the abuser (and children ect) it was common for the victim to drop the case when it got to court. People didn't understand psychology back then as much though.
Deletehe's a living caricature of himself...I'm just surprised people are still paying him money/attention.
ReplyDeleteThanks G, his 'winning' tour bombed, now hes begging for his old job back. I wish people would think critically and not watch this bullys shows.
Deletei didn't even want to watch that when i saw that it was about charlie sheen, but i'm glad i did. that was great.
ReplyDeleteThanks Henrietta, i hate it too that he is so famous and rich. When he got that hit show two and a half men he was regularly beating his wife . He is not someone who should get a comedy roast. I know i only have a small blog, but who knows , a few people might see it and think differently. That is my plan.
DeleteSigh...Sheen disappoints me. Even afte knowing all the awful things he's done, I still can't help but watch reruns of his show.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jax, there is nothing wrong with liking or enjoying someone who has talent, even if they do horrible things. Koestler wrote wonderful books on the negative effects of living under the Russian Communist system, but he was a serial rapist. Wagner wrote beautiful music, but it uses racist mythology to establish the myth of the aryan race. Lewis Carroll who wrote for children was a pedophile who wanted to marry Alice Liddle when she was 11. We can have contrasting feelings about our culture, for instance the King James bible, it is a beautiful book, full of poetry and moral stances that i admire. And one cannot understand Western culture and language without reading it, but christianity has led to more deaths than any other religious or social movement. And the christian representatives still condemn homosexuality, womens reproductive rights, and is racist. But i still have a copy of it ,and read it and refrence it in art i make.It is more that we know of their lifestyle and condemn them for it. Education and awareness is key i think.
DeleteHe's got tiger blood!
